Who We Are

How RNR DESIGNS Got Started

The desire to design homes has been with Rich since an early age. His affinity to create fine and practical homes for clients was nurtured by visiting famous and iconic homes and neighborhoods around the US and cultivated by a formal education in architecture. His studies took him on an academic path focusing in architecture and construction. And when he had a chance to begin his professional career as a field superintendent for a custom homebuilder in Cleveland's east side, Rich jumped at the opportunity to enter the custom home market and learn from the ground level.

When Rich's pregnant wife suggested he start his design business "tomorrow" over 20 years ago, it may not have seemed like great timing...but there was no time like the present and RNR DESIGNS was born (along with his first child). Started as a residential design/build firm it became obvious after a few projects that it would be hard to do both well and that Rich's heart lay in the design. And from that point RNR DESIGNS has focused solely on the design of fine homes.

Education & Experience

Assuring Capability

Linking Knowledge & Practicality

Initially completing a Certificate of Proficiency in Architectural Drafting Technology from the School of Architecture of Kent State University and following through with a Bachelor of Science also from Kent State University prepared Rich well for his professional career. RNR DESIGNS' professional standards and commitment to continuing education ensure certified reliability and technical expertise.

Rich got his first break into the custom home industry in the early '80's as a job superintendent for a small hi-end custom homebuilder where he learned the 'ins and outs' of office and field operations. "I've learned some of the most practical lessons of design listening to tradesmen and owners in those days." Over the following ten years, Rich worked his way through the professional ranks as architectural product technical support, design engineer and project manager offering him experience in the residential, commercial and industrial construction markets.
