My wife and I moved from Florida and were looking for someone to help us design our new home. We have moved many times over the last 45 years so we knew what we wanted. The trick was to find someone who shared our ideas and improve upon them. We found that person in RNR designs, Rich Rokisky in Dover, Ohio. Rich helped us design our 12th home. We knew what we wanted and Rich was able to improve upon our ideas and keep us from making design errors. He made work areas like the kitchen and laundry room more efficient while maintaining the open concept floor plan. He suggested minor changes that improved not only the looks of our new house inside and out but also keeping in mind how a house is used by a family.
Rich visited our building site and helped us lay out the direction the house would face and ensure it would fit on our lot. Our property is oddly shaped so this was important to ensure we would have the proper locations for our well, septic, electrical service, and layout of the interior to match those external entrances.
Rich also was able to suggest several quality contractors he has worked with in the past. We interviewed each of the contractors and selected one he recommended. We couldn’t be any happier with his recommendations. Our custom builder was excellent. He built our house with our bottom line in mind. If we choose a design feature, i.e. counter tops, that were extremely expensive he let us know versus just going ahead and ordering them and then surprising us later with the cost.
With Rich’s design and his builder recommendation we were able to design and build our new home for less than the estimated square footage cost and within the scheduled time.
We are very pleased with RNR designs and recommend them to anyone who wants to build their dream home.

Recently we had RNR DESIGNS plan a large remodeling project at our Connecticut home. The project involved opening up the back of the house for an 18 X 18 addition which incorporated a Great Room, Kitchen, and Dining area. Rich's idea of flip-flopping the old existing Kitchen and Dining room resulted in a cost effective way of having a Kitchen which is more than double the size of our own original idea. The three areas blend together beautifully …
There were difficulties to be worked out with the existing roof line of the house and also with the support beam and post. RNR DESIGNS worked very well with our contractor in solving these problems. Also included in the project were a new "Mud Room", Deck and Patio.
Everyone who was involved with the building was very impressed with RNR DESIGNS' drawings. Rich's ideas were invaluable --they were practical and cost effective. I will always be grateful … Rich thought of things and warned of potential problems that we would never have thought of.
We enjoyed working with RNR DESIGNS, as did our contractor. And we love our "new" house !
